UJ – Jimmy Llinas (3) and Cole Woodford (6) scored the first nine points for the Jimmies, while the Chargers scored four.
By 14:40 remaining the Chargers had outscored the Jimmies 16-4 to lead by seven. Silas Bennion responded with five points and Antonio Chandler added two to tie the Chargers 20-20.
In the next few minutes, the Jimmies and the Chargers took turns with the lead but starting at 2:46 the Jimmies went on a 9-2 run to lead 38-31.
The Chargers scored five more points, and the Jimmies scored two more to end the half ahead 40-36.
Two minutes into the second half the Chargers caught the Jimmies 43-42. The Jimmies managed to reach a tie, but the Chargers continued to outscore them and led 57-50 with 11 minutes to go.
After that, the Jimmies managed to get within one point with 9:17 on the clock but were unable to catch the Chargers and ended up behind 72-89.
FOR THE JIMMIES
- Silas Bennion led with 19 points and added 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
- Cole Woodford had 14 points. He made 4-8 threes for 50%.
- Will Cordes had 12 points.
- Jimmy Llinas grabbed six rebounds.
FOR THE CHARGERS
- Ely Doble and Joey Skoff each had 21 points.
- Doble had nine rebounds.
The brackets for nationals will be announced on March 7th.
