UJ – Minot State scored once in the first period and twice more in the second to take a 3-0 lead going into the second intermission.

UJ cut the lead to 3-1 on Logan Berggren‘s 10th goal of the season, coming on the power play at 8:14 of the third. Matthew Poole got the assist.

Down two goals with two minutes remaining in regulation, the Jimmies pulled goaltender Brandon Weare for an extra attacker. The Beavers added an empty-net goal at 18:33 to push their lead back to three.

Zane MacDonald scored with 43 seconds remaining as UJ got within 4-2, but no closer.

Weare had 37 saves while MSU’s Jake Anthony had 29 saves.
