Beaumont, Texas — The University of North Dakota men’s tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at Lamar on Tuesday afternoon from the Thompson Family Tennis Center in Beaumont, Texas.
Lamar jumped out to a 1-0 lead with victories on the No. 1 and 3 courts, with the middle pairing of Ange-Kevin Koua and Ethan Terry notching a 6-3 victory for the Fighting Hawks.
The Cardinals kept up the momentum in singles action, claiming the first four matches to take a 5-0 lead and grab the overall match victory. Jayho Hong got the visitors on the board at the No. 5 spot with a 7-6, 7-5 win, but Lamar closed out the 6-1 victory.
North Dakota will head to Prairie View A&M for a showdown on Thursday morning beginning at 9 a.m.
