GRAND FORKS, N.D. – For the 35th time in program history, North Dakota is headed to the NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament. The Fighting Hawks were selected as a No. 2 seed in the Maryland Heights Regional and will play No. 3 seed Michigan on Friday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. (CT) from the Centene Community Ice Center in Missouri, as announced by the selection committee on Sunday evening.

Friday will be the 92nd all-time meeting between North Dakota and Michigan, with the Wolverines holding a slim 46-41-4 margin. The sides have met five times in the national tournament, with UND claiming three of those meetings.

North Dakota is making its third NCAA appearance in the last four seasons and 35th overall, which ranks fifth all-time. UND is also third in NCAA history with 53 wins in postseason history and a .654 winning percentage in the national tournament.
