CRETE, Neb.— The University of Jamestown baseball team lost 2-1 to Doane (Neb.) Thursday afternoon in the opening game of the Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason tournament.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Doane took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third on a two-run homer by Joe Osborn.
- The Jimmies had a runner on second in each of the first three innings but were unable to score.
- Jordan Singleton homered to lead off the top of the seventh, cutting the deficit to 2-1, but Tiger starter Aaron Forrest retired the next three batters to end the game.
- UJ had a 6-5 edge in hits, with Riki Okamoto, Chase Burke, Alex Alva, Julian Sansores, and Ryan Muizelaar joining Singleton in the hit column.
- Cade Torgerson (7-3) went the distance on the mound, giving up two unearned runs on five hits in six innings. He struck out three and walked one.

- Jamestown faces Morningside (Iowa) in an elimination game Friday at noon.
