Jamestown – Memorial Day opening ceremony will be held 9am Monday May 27 at the Gladstone Inn this year.

The Jamestown Patriotic Council has a full morning of activities planned, starting with a memorial-remembrance service with speaker. The Drum and Bugle Corp performance, recognitions at 9:00am at the Gladsone Inn.

Following the service there will be a wreath lowering at the Nickeous Park bridge and remembrance at Fort Seward and city cemeteries by Veteran Organizations Auxiliaries and members of the 20th infantry group.

Starting about 11:15am there will be a luncheon, social and refreshment at the All Vets Club with free will offering with all proceeds going to the Patriotic Council for future Patriotic activities in our great community. The Club will close after the luncheon.

Take a few hours out of your long weekend to pause and remember, to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice – those who are no longer here on earth, and those who have given us this blessed gift of freedom.
