On May 26th, 2024, at approximately 1049 hours, a 2-vehicle injury crash
occurred on westbound Interstate 94 near MM 351 (Under the Fargo red river walk bridge).
The crash was between a Nissan Rouge, driven by, Mary Salman, and a Peterbilt semi-truck pulling a tanker.

The driver of the semi-truck, Louis Guertin, slowed for traffic. The driver of the Nissan (Salman) was
following behind the semi-truck, and rear ended the tanker trailer. Salman and her juvenile
passenger were not wearing seatbelts. Salman sustained serious injuries from the crash. The
juvenile passenger sustained minor injuries. Both were transported by Sanford ambulance to
Sanford Hospital. Guertin was not injured in the crash.

West bound traffic on Interstate 94 was reduced to one lane for approximately one hour while
emergency responders provided aid and investigated the crash. The North Dakota Highway
Patrol was assisted by the Fargo Police Department, Fargo Fire Department, and Sanford
ambulance. The crash remains under investigation. The involved juvenile’s name will not be
released.
