A 2005 Dodge Durango driven by Ryan Lucht was travelling westbound on Highway 23 near mile marker 47 when it struck the rear end of a 2016 Freightliner semi pulling a tanker trailer, which was also westbound. The Freightliner semi was being driven by Kante Moussa. After striking the semi, the Dodge Durango side swiped an eastbound 2011 Ram 2500 being driven by Stephanie Smith. The Dodge Durango came to rest in the middle of the roadway. The Freightliner semi came to rest in the westbound lane. The Ram 2500 came to rest on the shoulder of the eastbound lane. Ryan Lucht sustained minor injuries and was charged with DUI and Driving Under Suspension. Kante Moussa was not injured. Stephanie Smith and passenger, William Smith, were not injured. The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP.
