The Jamestown Community Foundation has recently awarded a $2,500 grant to Troop 163 of the Jamestown Boy Scouts for assistance towards the purchase of a new trailer/equipment.  The local Scouts use the trailer and equipment for their trips to the regional camps and Jamborees around the country, and their current trailer is in dire need of replacement.  This grant will bring them very close to their fund raising goal for the project.

The Scouts program teaches young men and women the importance of citizenship and being a productive member of society.  They encourage healthy life skills in fun and exciting ways that the leaders hope will be useful in kids’ adult lives.  The Scouts give back to the community through community service and restoration projects.  They are chartered through the Men of Trinity from Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown. The Jamestown Community Foundation can be reached for information about their organization or their grant applications/guidelines by going on-line to www.jamestowncommunityfoundation.com or by contacting Barb Lang at 701-320-4570. Donations to the Foundation can be mailed to the JCF at P.O. Box 2004, Jamestown, ND 58402.
