The funeral service for Alan Marvin Windingland, 80, Valley City, North Dakota will be 10:30 AM, Monday, July 22, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City with visitation one hour before the service.  The burial will be at Lund Cemetery, Luverne, North Dakota. Alan passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Sanford Hospital, Fargo with his family by his side.

Alan Marvin Windingland was born on November 6, 1943, in Luverne, North Dakota, the son of Aadne and Anne (Ueland) Windingland.  He married Rosella Margaret Rausch on June 15, 1963.  Together, they had three sons, Alan Lee, Steve and Cory.  Alan remarried Darlene Ann Halstad on November 17, 1972.  They had one son Ross and two daughters Denise and Tami.  They lived on the family farm in Luverne prior to moving to Valley City, North Dakota in 1989.  Alan enjoyed fishing, hunting, growing tomatoes, cucumbers and spending time with his family and friends.  He was very proud of his grandchildren. Alan had an amazing sense of humor.

Alan is survived by his children Alan Lee (Holly) Windingland, Steve (Jodi) Windingland, Cory (Gayle) Windingland, Denise (Kyle) Kieselhorst, Tami Good and Ross (Caroline) Windingland and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Darlene.
