Jamestown – On July 25, 2024, at 7:27am, the Jamestown Police Department responded to a report of a 1 vehicle rollover injury accident in the 1500 block of 4 St NW. The location of this accident is on the edge of Northwest Jamestown and is mostly remote with a few businesses in the area. The vehicle and 2 occupants were found a distance away from the roadway, down a steep embankment on the south side of 4 St NW. The caller stated a female could be heard yelling for help.

Upon arrival, officers found the 2 occupants who were seriously injured in the rollover accident. One occupant was ejected, and the other occupant was trapped inside the vehicle. The vehicle was identified as a 2010 Dodge Journey.

The 27-year-old male driver was extricated from the vehicle by rescue squad members and the 28-year-old female passenger was ejected. Both were transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center and later transferred to a Fargo Hospital for treatment of their serious life-threatening injuries.

An initial investigation into the accident has shown the vehicle and occupants were at the scene of the crash for an extended period before they were found. The vehicle had been driving westbound on 4 St NW when it left the roadway. The vehicle vaulted off an embankment, rolled and came to rest against a tree.

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the following agencies: Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, North Dakota Highway Patrol, Jamestown Area Ambulance, Jamestown Fire Department, Jamestown Rural Fire Department, and the Jamestown City Street Department.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.
