NDHP – On July 27th, 2024 at approximately 9:15 pm, the Traill County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle traveling the wrong way on I-29 in Traill County. The vehicle, a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, was traveling southbound in the northbound roadway.
The Traill County Sheriff’s Office pursued the vehicle for approximately 12 miles. The driver of the Chevrolet pulled into the median near MM 88 in Cass County and stopped.
The driver, Jerrid Klements, 34 YOA, from Lees Summit, Missouri, was arrested by the ND Highway Patrol for driving under the influence with minors present and reckless endangerment, both misdemeanors. Klements was also cited for driving without liability insurance, open container, driving the wrong way and registration violations.
Two juvenile children were present in the vehicle at the time of the incident. They were unharmed.
