NDHP – On August 5 at 8:29 pm a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling north bound in the 400 block of 32nd Avenue West in Williston. The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control while negotiating a slight left-hand curve. The driver, Derek Wehrman, lost control of the motorcycle and struck the east curb. The motorcycle struck the fire hydrant and came to rest in the roadway. The driver sustained serious injuries. The driver was transported by ambulance to CHI St Alexius in Williston and later flown to Trinity Hospital in Minot. The 400 block of 32nd Ave West in Williston was shut down for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes for the crash investigation.
