NDHP – On August 6 at 2:45 pm a Toyota driven by Jerry Rufsvold, 67yo male of Lisbon was stopped facing southbound on State Highway 32 to turn left (east) onto 73rd St SE. The Honda, driven by Amber Patel, 37yo female of Oakes was traveling south behind the Toyota and rear-ended it, pushing it into the northbound lane. The Chevrolet was northbound and struck the Toyota head-on.

The Toyota came to rest facing west in the southbound lane. The Honda came to rest facing north in the middle of the roadway. The Chevrolet driven by Jacob Urbach, 21yo male of Lisbon came to rest facing east in the east ditch.

The driver of the Toyota was transferred to Sanford Hospital in Fargo by Sanford AirMed with life threatening injury. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Rufsvold died on 8-10-24. The criminal vehicular injury charges against Patel will be amended to criminal vehicular homicide.
