NDHP – On August 22at 6t:45pm a Chevrolet was eastbound on US Highway 281. For an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway and entered the south ditch. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross both lanes of travel and enter the north ditch, where it rolled, coming to rest facing south on its wheels. Multiple passengers were ejected from the vehicle.
All occupants were transported to Quentin M. Burdick Hospital in Belcourt. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, multiple passengers were later life flighted to Trinity Hospital in Minot and Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
