An eastbound travelling Dodge Charger operated by (Kelly) was observed driving recklessly by other motorists. (Kelly) failed to see that traffic had come to a stop and rear-ended the trailer of the stopped Chevy Silverado operated by (Johnson) that had come to a stop in the middle eastbound lane of Interstate 94.
The crash resulted in significant front-end damage to the Charger and disabling rear end damage to both the trailer and Silverado. The Charger was disabled and came to rest blocking the middle and right lane of eastbound Interstate 94.
The driver of the Charger (Kelly) sustained serious none-life threatening injuries and was transported by Sanford Ambulance to the Sanford Hospital. The driver and passengers of the Silverado were not injured.
Kelly was arrested for DUI-drugs. Traffic was impacted on Interstate 94 while law enforcement and emergency crews investigated and cleared the crash scene. This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
