JAMESTOWN, N.D. — The Jamestown Regional Medical Center Foundation is proud to announce the success of its 24th annual Pillars of Giving event, held Sept. 5. Community members gathered to celebrate the impact of philanthropy on local healthcare. The event, set against the backdrop of the JRMC Healing Gardens, was a tribute to the donors whose generosity ensures that quality, compassionate care continues to thrive in the region.
The JRMC Foundation thanked the many donors who have contributed to advancing healthcare in the community. Pillars of Giving provides an opportunity to pause and honor those who go above and beyond in their support of JRMC. The JRMC Foundation also announced the recipients of its philanthropic awards.
Mike and Marilyn Smyth were named Philanthropists of the Year, an honor dedicated to a family or individual who has made a significant positive impact on patient care. The Smyths recently established an endowment for the JRMC Cancer Center and Family BirthPlace.
The Outstanding Seedling Award went to Lucas and Brittni Rodin of Rodin Racing. This award recognizes individuals or families who are just beginning their philanthropic journey with JRMC and have already demonstrated remarkable generosity. The Rodins raised nearly $4,000 for the Cancer Center through an auction held at the racetrack.
The Community Difference Partner of the Year award was presented to the Individuals Motorcycle Club, whose members exemplified the spirit of making a difference. Through their years of fundraising efforts at the annual Polar Pig event, in collaboration with the Harley Owners Group, the club has raised tens of thousands of dollars for hospice care at JRMC.
“The Pillars of Giving event was more than just an evening of recognition — it was a reminder of the incredible generosity that flows through this community,” said JRMC Foundation Director Tonya Perkins. “Each donation, no matter the size, directly contributes to the health and well-being of our patients. We are grateful for every individual who has chosen to invest in our mission.”
A highlight of the evening was the story shared by Dr. Teree Rittenbach, who spoke of her mother’s journey at JRMC. She recounted the compassionate care her mother received, emphasizing the legacy of love and support that the medical center extends to every patient. It served as a reminder of the lives touched by the generosity of JRMC’s supporters.
“The success of this event reflects the heart of our community,” JRMC President and CEO Mike Delfs said. “Our donors’ support empowers us to provide exceptional care and drive innovation. Together, we are making a lasting impact on countless lives.”
The Pillars of Giving event, now in its 24th year, remains a cornerstone of the JRMC Foundation’s fundraising efforts.
