MANHATTAN, KANSAS – The UND men’s golf team wrapped up its opening tournament of the 2024-25 season at the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Kansas State, from Colbert Hills Golf Club in Manhattan, Kansas. 

As a team, the Fighting Hawks finished 10th out of 15 teams with a score of 908 (+44) while the host Kansas State captured the team title with an 850 (-14).  UND was at its best on the final day of action, climbing two spots up the leaderboard with a 299 (+11) over the final 18 holes to post the seventh-best score of the round by a team. 

Nathan Peyerl opened his season in strong fashion, just missing a top-20 finish with a 224 (+8) following a trio of consistent rounds to place tied for 25th. The sophomore fired a pair of 75’s on the opening day before dropping a stroke over the final 18 holes to finish with a 74 and lead the way for the green and white. 

Grayson Wetch, who is coming off his best season in 2023-24, started his year with a 228 (+12) to sit in a tie for 39th overall while Lucas Feterl shaved four shots off his score on the final round to jump up seven spots and finish tied for 44th with a 230 (+14). 

Kagan Kollar also improved as the rounds went, placing tied for 48th with a 232 (+16) after concluding his event with a 75 before Joseph Kortan rounded out the scoring for the Hawks with a 243 (+27) to sit 70th. 

North Dakota will head to West Des Moines, Iowa for the Zach Johnson Invitational beginning on Monday, Sept. 23 from Glen Oaks Country Club.
