Jamestown – The Jamestown Community Foundation recently awarded a $1,125 grant  to SMP Health- Ave Maria to assist with their needed wheelchair replacement and parts project.  The  therapy department has requested a number of wheelchairs and accessories (foot pedals, seats, air cushions etc.) that need to be updated both for resident safety and efficiency for the team members.  Generally, the life-span of a wheelchair in continuous use is about approximately 10 years.  Ave Maria impacts not only the Jamestown community, but also individuals from surrounding counties.  They perform therapy for their residents and also for the many temporary residents who come for post-operative therapy and care.  To make donations to Ave Maria you can contact Annie Hancock, Development Director at 701-952-5677 or Annie.hancock@smphs.org.  Checks can also be mailed to SMP Health – Ave Maria, c/o Annie Hancock at 501 19th St. NE, Jamestown ND  58401.

The Jamestown Community Foundation can be reached for information about its organization or grant applications/guidelines by going on-line to www.ndcf.net and selecting Learn, then choose the Jamestown Community Foundation page.  People may also contact Barb Lang at 701-320-4570.  Donations to the foundation can be mailed to the JCF at P.O.
