NDHP – On October 6th, 2024, at approximately 1206 AM two motorcycle crashes occurred on I-29 northbound at the Main Ave exit. One of these motorcycle crashes resulted in an injury to the involved driver (Matthew Boucha).
A 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by (Matthew Boucha) was traveling northbound on Interstate 29 and took the Main Ave exit.
Boucha lost control of his motorcycle while taking the Main Ave exit which caused him to put the motorcycle down onto the roadway. The Motorcycle slid along the paved roadway and entered the east ditch of the Main Ave exit.
Boucha sustained serious, but none-life threatening injuries from the crash and was transported by ambulance to the Sanford Hospital. Boucha was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
A 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by (Jonathan Hinnenkamp) was riding behind (Boucha). (Hinnenkamp) observed (Boucha) put his bike down and enter the ditch.
(Hinnenkamp) attempted to disembark his motorcycle to render aid, and when doing so, lost control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle entered the east ditch, rolled down a hill and struck a fence, causing damage to the motorcycle and fence. (Hinnenkamp) was not injured and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The crash that Boucha was involved in is still under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
