On October 13th, 2024, at 7:36 PM (Central Time) a serious injury DUI crash occurred between two vehicles on Hwy 200 near MM 208 approximately 1.5 miles west of Skyeston, ND.
A Kenworth semi-truck driven by Dustin Duda, hauling a grain trailer was traveling westbound on Hwy 200. The driver of the semi-truck attempted to make a right turn into a farmyard near this location. A 2019 Ford F-150 traveling behind the semi-truck failed to notice the semi-truck was slowing to make the turn.
The driver of the F-150, Justin Bell, struck the back of the semi-truck’s trailer at road speed. The semi-truck was partially in the driveway of the Farm when this collision occurred.
The F-150 came to rest in the westbound lane of Hwy 200. The semi-truck came to rest in the driveway of the farm.
The driver of the F-150 sustained serious life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Carrington Hospital. The driver was stabilized, and life flighted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The driver of the Ford F-150 was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving Under Suspension.
This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
