Present: Heinrich, Kamlitz, Phillips, Schloegel, Steele, Magnuson, Hellekson, Christianson, Edinger, Laber, Michel, O’Neill, Stroh and Sveum.

POLICE & FIRE COMMITTEE
Chair Kamlitz convened the meeting at 4:00 p.m. Fire Inspector Christianson provided a department update. Council Member Schloegel seated himself at 4:02 p.m. Chief Edinger provided a Police Department update. Steele moved to forward to the City Council, without recommendation, the quote to have a chain link fence with privacy slats and 2 gates installed at the City storage building at 1620 8th Ave SW in the amount of $19,484 from Dakota Fence. Seconded by Phillips. Chief Edinger provided information. Unanimous aye vote. Carried.

Chair Kamlitz adjourned the meeting at 4:08 p.m.

PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
Chair Steele convened the meeting at 4:08 p.m. Kamlitz moved to recommend the City Council approve the quote to purchase GPS equipment for the landfill dozer using the Minnesota State Cooperative Purchasing Venture in the amount of $73,903.45 from the Solid Waste Fund. Seconded by Schloegel. Public Works Director Michel and Sanitation Foreman O’Neill provided information. Unanimous aye vote. Carried.

Phillips moved to recommend the City Council approve the following for 2025 Seal Coat, Patching, Construction & Reconstruction District 25-41:

a. To create the district.
b. To direct the preparation of a preliminary engineering report concerning the district.
Seconded by Schloegel. Public Works Director Michel provided information. Unanimous aye vote. Carried.

Kamlitz moved to recommend the City Council approve the Change Order No. 3 for consideration to CC Steel, LLC for 96” Storm Sewer Emergency Replacement (EC23-00-067) for a net increase of $2,800.00. Seconded by Heinrich. Public Works Director Michel provided information. Unanimous aye vote. Carried.

Chair Steele and Public Works Director Michel reviewed the project updates. Public Works Director Michel informed the Public Works Committee that letters will be sent to over 4,000 households
in Jamestown as part of the U.S. EPA Lead and Copper Rule Revision which requires all Community and NonTransient Non-Community water systems to individually notify customers whose service lines have been identified as lead, galvanized requiring replacement or lead status “Unknown”, of the type of service line at their location. This is an annual requirement that will be part of a large replacement program that will take place over the next ten to thirteen years.
