GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota is once again trending upwards nationally, climbing one spot to No. 6 in the USCHO.com Poll and holding steady at No. 7 in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live Poll to close out the month of October.
The Fighting Hawks are coming off a weekend split against then-No. 3 Boston University, posting a 7-2 triumph in the series opener on Friday before the Terriers bounced back with a 4-3 win in the finale. Friday’s victory was the largest margin of victory over a top-3 opponent since 2009 and the most goals against BU since 1990.
Entering this week, NoDak will play a ranked opponent for the fourth straight weekend for the first time since the 2018-19 season and currently has all but four games scheduled against teams either ranked or receiving votes.
Another top-10 opponent awaits North Dakota for the second straight week, as UND will head to Ithaca, N.Y. to battle No. 9/8 Cornell beginning on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. (CT) from Lynah Rink. It marks the first trip to Cornell since Jan. 2010.
