VCSU Women’s Cross Country has two national qualifiers for the first time since 2018. Karly Just and Jasmine Barnes will be headed to the NAIA National Championships hosted at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo.
 
Karly Just is a junior competing in her third season at VCSU. At this years NSAA Championships Just finished in second place at the meet, earning All-Conference honors for the second time in her career. With her runner-up finish Just earned her first trip to the NAIA National Championships. Just is also a one-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete. During the 2024 season Just set the school record 6K time twice with her best being 22:27.8 at the Marauder Invite.
 
Jasmine Barnes, a senior, has also qualified for nationals with a fourth-place finish at the NSAA Championships. Barnes is now a three-time All-Conference runner, one-time national qualifier, and one-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete. This season she ran a personal-best 6K time of 23:14.6 at the Marauder Invite.
 
The final field for the 45th annual NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Championship is composed of 36 teams and 82 individuals. The field will prepare to race on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. CT at the Columbia, Mo., Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
