Jamestown – Daniel Richards announces the expansion of Cavendish Farms in Jamestown. Richards is the Vice President of J.D. Irving Limited which owns of Cavendish Farms.
Cavendish Farms will spend up to $150 million dollars to expand the potato plant, which includes expanding the packaging department at a cost of $15 million and another $30 million to create their own waste water plant.
Ground breaking on the project will start in the spring of 2025. Included in the expansion will be replacing the fryer and increase the building by 55ft. With the completion of the expansion, the production output will increase from 410 million pounds to 450 million pounds of potato product.
