Sioux Falls SD – The University of Jamestown men’s basketball team beat the Augustana University Vikings on Saturday afternoon. Silas Bennion led the Jimmies with 16 points, shooting 66% on the court. Jimmy Llinas posted his second double-double in two games with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies came out hot to start the game. Bennion started the three-point frenzy, and Will Cordes and Anthony Walters each hit two of their own, followed by Spencer Barr to give the Jimmies 18 points from behind the arc in the first eight minutes.
- Barr’s three put the Jimmies at a 24-12 advantage over the Vikings, which was also their largest lead of the half.
- Two Viking threes in the last two minutes cut the Jimmies lead to eight, 38-30, to end the half.
- Bennion dropped two more threes in the second half, and Owen Hektner hit three to tally the Jimmies three-pointers made to eleven.
- The Vikings chipped away at their eight-point deficit from the first and managed to get within one, 47-48, to the Jimmies with 12:59 to play. While the Vikings did outscore the Jimmies 40-37 in the second half, the Jimmies did not allow them a lead and brought home a Saturday victory.
- Will Cordes was the other player in double figures with 14 points. The Jimmies shot 64.7% beyond the arc and 50.9% overall.
