JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The University of Jamestown men’s wrestling team hosted its first home dual of the season Wednesday evening, defeating Bismarck State College 33-23 at Harold Newman Arena.
After the Mystics began the dual with a victory by pin at 197, Jamestown won four straight matches, including pins from Johnny Colon (133) and Jace Goebel (141), and a 20-3 tech fall win by Chance Robinson at 285.
BSC came back with three consecutive wins to tie the dual at 23-23 following Colton King’s 17-0 tech fall at 165.
Pablo Garcia put the Jimmies back in front with a 15-6 major decision over Izac Turner at 174, and Diante Taylor clinched six more points for UJ as the Mystics were open at 184 pounds.
The Jimmies will be back in action Saturday, December 7, at the Conner/Oppeheim Doane Open in Crete, Neb., starting at 9:00 a.m.
