On Tuesday December 10th, 2024 the North Dakota Highway Patrol received a call from the Metro Street Crimes Unit. They had found a vehicle that had previously fled from the NDHP a week earlier. NDHP units responded to May Lane in North Fargo, North Dakota.

The vehicle was parked on May Lane and there was a male sleeping in the passenger seat
when NDHP Troopers arrived. When Troopers attempted to contact the male occupant, he
woke up, hopped in the driver seat and began to flee. Troopers attempted to box the vehicle
in but were unsuccessful. The vehicle fled in reverse at low speeds and a PIT maneuver was
attempted but unsuccessful. The vehicle was able to get turned around a flee at a high rate of
speed. The NDHP did not pursue as it was in a residential neighborhood. When the vehicle
fled the neighborhood it cut through a yard, nearly striking a pedestrian in the yard.

About 10-15 minutes later the Metro Street Crimes Unit spotted the fleeing vehicle entering
the rear parking lot of an apartment at 821 7th Ave N. Several officers from the Metro Street
Crimes Unit were able to take the driver into custody as he was walking away from the vehicle.
The suspect driver was 29 year old Robert Peightal (no known address). Through the
investigation, Troopers learned the vehicle was stolen out of Fargo. Robert Peightal had three
active warrants for his arrest out of Cass County, ND. Robert was booked into the Cass

County Jail on the following charges:

• Felony Reckless Endangerment
• Felony fleeing in a Motor Vehicle
• Felony theft-possession of stolen property (motor vehicle)
• Felony possession of methamphetamine
• Misdemeanor driving under suspension
• Misdemeanor drug paraphernalia
• Misdemeanor possession of a reproduced license
