NDHP – On December 11th, 2024, at approximately 5:28 PM, a 4-vehicle property crash involving a DUI
driver occurred on Interstate 94 eastbound near MM 352 in the city of Fargo.
Traffic was stop and go, due to rush hour congestion. A Honda CRV operated by (Schiller) was
stopped in the right lane of Interstate 94 eastbound. A Dodge Carvan operated by (Bentley)
was stopped in the middle lane of Interstate 94 eastbound. A Dodge Ram pickup operated by
(Illies) was stopped in the left lane of Interstate 94.
A Lexus operated by (Hannig) merged onto Interstate 94 eastbound from the southbound
University exit. (Hannig) accelerated to road speed, failing to see the stopped vehicles in front
of him. Hannig collided with the Honda CRV in a rear-end style collision. This collision pushed
the Honda CRV into the Dodge Caravan and pushed the Dodge Caravan into the Dodge Ram.
No injuries resulted from the crash.
Traffic on Interstate-94 was impacted for approximately one hour while emergency crews,
investigated the crash, and cleared the involved vehicles.
Hannig was arrested for DUI and was also charged with possession of THC products and
marijuana paraphernalia.
This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
