NDHP – On December 23rd at 3:21pm a 2016 Ford Explorer operated by (Osman) was traveling westbound on Interstate 94 near MM Road conditions were poor due to accumulating snow and ice. (Osman) was driving to fast for road conditions, and lost control of the Ford entering the north ditch of Interstate 94.
The Ford travelled through the north ditch and struck tree row along a fence dividing
Interstate 94 and a Fargo frontage road. After striking multiple trees, the Ford rolled onto its
roof, coming to rest in the north ditch of Interstate 94.
The driver (Osman) and front seat passenger (Hassan) along with a back seat passenger
juvenile male, sustained serious, but none-life threatening injures. All were transported by
Sanford ambulance, to the Sanford Hospital due to sustained injuries from the crash.
After the roll-over crash occurred, multiple property crashes occurred at the same location.
This was due to motorists looking at the crash scene, and not giving attention to the roadway,
and rear-ending each other, or driving off the roadway to avoid collisions.
A total of four other motorists were involved in property crashes until emergency crews could
respond and provide traffic control and assist individuals needing aid.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol would like to remind motorists, to decrease their speed
during poor weather. Leave a safe following distance and keep your eyes on the roadway.
This injury crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The
juveniles name will not be released.
