VALLEY CITY – Valley City State University men’s basketball was up ended 72-56 by the University of Jamestown. The Vikings fall to 10-9 on the season and 1-6 in NSAA matchups. The Jimmies improve to 11-7 and 6-1 in NSAA games.
The Jimmies opened the game with an 8-0 run building an early lead. With 14 minutes remaining in the first half, they grew their lead to 10. The held a double digit steadily going into halftime with a score of 44-24.
The second half was much of the same. The Jimmies maintained their lead closing the game with a score of 72-56.
To close the contest the Vikings shot 24-55 from the field, 7-19 from the three-point line, and 1-2 from the free throw line. They were led by Caden Grinde who scored 16 points and six rebounds. Odier Olange tallied ten points and five rebounds.
The Jimmies shot 29-64 from the field, 10-28 from the three-point line, and 4-6 from the free throw line. The Jimmies were led by Jimmy Llinas who tallied 16 points and ten rebounds.
