UJ – University of Jamestown Director of Athletics Austin Hieb has announced Cameron Jackson as the first head coach of the Jimmie women’s tennis team, which will begin play in the 2025-26 season.

“Cameron brings much needed passion and excitement as the first head coach of UJ women’s tennis,” Hieb said. “We’re excited to welcome his family to Jamestown and see him start our tennis program.”

For the last five seasons, Jackson has coached at the high school level, with the past three as the head coach of Declo High School in Idaho. In 2022, Jackson’s girls team won the Idaho 4A Great Basin District Champions and went through the regular season undefeated. He was named 2022 Great Basin Conference Tennis Coach of the Year and his 2023 team repeated as 4A Great Basin District Champions. Under Jackson’s tutelage, six players won individual district championships and two others won state championships.

“I’m excited to be named the first head coach of the University of Jamestown’s women’s tennis program,” Jackson said. “The enthusiasm from Austin HiebBryce Nybo, and the entire athletic staff has been incredible, and it’s clear there’s strong support for adding another women’s program. I’m excited to get started and help grow the program as part of this great athletic community.”

Jackson and his wife have a two-year-old daughter.
