Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Oct 4, 2013) — A Jamestown man has been bound over for trial, charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

49 year old Said Ahmed Muse of Jamestown waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Southeast District Court, on Thursday.

Muse has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Muse, is accused of using a large knife or machete in an attack on 26 year old Abdirizak Nur in an incident that occurred in Jamestown on June 8.

Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger says, Abdirizak, was treated for a deep cut to the left bicep and cuts to the hand. He says Muse and Abdirizak were acquainted.

The case will now be scheduled for a jury trial.

Muse remains in custody on $100,000 bond.

The attempted murder charge is a Class A felony while aggravated assault is a Class C felony.

A Class A felony is punishable by 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Attempted murder has a minimum penalty of four years in prison. A Class C felony is punishable by five years in prison and $5,000 fine. The criminal complaint also indicates Muse may be deported if found guilty
