Box ScoreJamestown, N.D. – The University of Jamestown men’s basketball team is back in the win column after defeating the Bellevue University Bruins on Saturday. Silas Bennion led in scoring again with 23 points, Will Cordes followed with 17, and Hunter Lyman secured 10 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Early triples from Owen HektnerAnthony Walters, and Ayden Stainbrook set the tone for the Jimmies in the first half, giving them a five-point advantage over the Bruins.
  • That advantage quickly turned into a double-figure one, and the Jimmies led 18-6 after three made free throws by Bennion. 
  • The Bruins began a 15-3 run and pulled ahead with back-to-back threes to put the Jimmies down by one with three minutes to go.
  • The Jimmies put up four more points to reach 25 for the half, and the Bruins added two more for 24 to enter the second almost even. 
  • The Jimmies revived their double-figure advantage seven minutes into the final half, and the Bruins did not see another lead. 
  • The Jimmies scored 46 points to the Bruins 34 in the second half to win the matchup 71-58. 
  • Twenty-seven of the Jimmies points were off turnovers, and as a team, they recorded eight steals, three of them from Cole Glasgow.
