VALLEY CITY, N.D.—Anthony Walters scored a game-high 23 points to lead four Jimmies in double figures as the University of Jamestown men’s basketball team defeated Valley City State University 75-68 Friday evening at W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A 9-4 VCSU lead was the largest lead for either team in the first half until a three-pointer by Silas Bennion gave the Jimmies a 35-30 advantage with 1:32 before halftime.
- The Vikings answered with a three-pointer of their own but Bennion’s basket with 9 seconds in the half made it 37-33 at the break.
- Walters and Jimmy Llinas teamed up for 18 of UJ’s first 25 second-half points, and it was Walters who gave Jamestown a 10-point lead with a basket at the 7:13 mark.
- VCSU got as close as 64-59 with a little less than five minutes remaining, but Walters and Will Cordes each made a three-pointer as the lead grew back to 10.
- After attempting only three free throws in the first half, Jamestown went to the line 17 times in the second half and made 7 of their final 10 tries.
- Bennion (18), Llinas (15), and Owen Hektner (11) also joined Walters in double figures.
- Carson Woodford had 7 rebounds and Cordes recorded 3 steals.\
