Minot – The 15th ranked University of Jamestown held No 6 Minot State University scoreless for 60 minutes in Friday afternoon’s contest, but the Beavers needed just 29 seconds in overtime to score the deciding goal in a 1-0 win at Maysa Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Both teams had eight shots in the first period, and the Jimmies had a power play chance at 12:43 of the first, but just four seconds in, UJ was called for a tripping penalty and the teams played 4-on-4 for the next 1:52.
  • Neither team found the back of the net in the second period, with Jamestown holding a 10-6 advantage in shots.
  • The third period was also scoreless and the game went to overtime. This was the eighth overtime contest for UJ this season.
  • At 0:29 into overtime, Paige Kozak recorded her 15th goal of the season on assists by Journey Miller and Abby Pineau for the game-winner.
  • Shots ended even at 24, with Lilah Drew making 23 saves for Jamestown.
