GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Mier Panoam converted a three-point play with 1:04 remaining to give the University of North Dakota men’s basketball team a 79-77 win over North Dakota State on Saturday afternoon at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
The Bison led 77-75 with 1:45 left following a three-pointer by Jacksen Moni and a bucket in traffic from Moni on back-to-back possessions.
UND got a free throw and Panoam’s three-point play to take the lead, and neither team scored in the final minute.
Jacari White scored 26 points to lead NDSU. Masen Miller and Jacksen Moni both added 14 for the Bison.
The Fighting Hawks made 9-of-19 (47 percent) from three-point range, while NDSU made 11-of-33 (33 percent) from beyond the arc.
The Bison (20-10 overall, 9-6 Summit) will return home for the regular season finale vs. South Dakota on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
