FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State sophomore Darik Dissette posted his first career double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds to lift the Bison men’s basketball team to an 82-78 win over South Dakota on Wednesday night at the Scheels Center.
NDSU finishes the regular season at 21-10 overall and 10-6 in The Summit League.
Dissette grabbed eight offensive rebounds on his way to a new career-high on the glass.
Senior Jacari White led NDSU with 20 points, and Tajavis Miller added a season-high 19 for the Bison.
The game was a back-and-forth affair with 18 lead changes and 11 ties. NDSU went up by nine at 62-53 with just over 11 minutes remaining, but the Coyotes strung together a 10-0 run to regain the lead.
South Dakota built a four-point advantage at 74-70 with three minutes left. The Bison scored the next seven points with a bucket from Dissette, two free throws by White, and a three-point play from White.
Both teams shot exactly 27-of-62 (43.5 percent) for the game. The Bison converted 24-of-29 (83 percent) at the free throw line.
Bison senior Masen Miller recorded a career-best four steals.
The Bison will be the No. 4 seed for the Summit League Tournament, playing No. 5 seed South Dakota in a rematch on Friday, Mar. 7, at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.
