VCSU – The VCSU womens basketball team is set to take on Dakota State in the NSAA Semifinal round Saturday at 1 pm in Madison SD.
 
Valley City State, who is the No. 5 seed in the postseason tournament, reached the NSAA Semifinals with a 78-76 road victory over No. 4 Bellevue. Dakota State, who holds a 22-4 record on the season and a 14-1 mark in conference play, earned a first-round bye as the No. 1 seed. VCSU handed Dakota State its only conference loss this season on Feb. 1 with a final score of 75-61 in Valley City.

VCSU lost its most recent matchup 67-66 to Dakota State on Feb. 15 in a game that featured six lead changes and neither team leading by more than seven points throughout the 40 minutes. The Vikings look to knock off the NSAA’s top seed and NAIA No. 8 Trojans for the second time this season. Saturday’s winner will advance to the NSAA Championship game to face the winner of No. 2 Mayville State and No. 3 Jamestown. The NSAA Championship will be played Tuesday, March 4 at the highest remaining seed.
