ORLANDO, FLA – The Valley City State University baseball team fell 14-2 to Grand View University.
The Vikings drop to 6-7 on the year and 1-2 in the RussMatt Invitational. Grand View University improves to 4-2 on the year and 3-0 at the RussMatt Invitational.

The Vikings lost 14-2 via run rule after the seventh inning. Jaden Babiuk went 1-for-2 with one run and one walk. Jamel Chabot was also 1-for-2 with one walk.
Grand View got on the board scoring one in the top of the first inning. The Vikings quickly answered scoring two in the bottom of the first. Jamel Chabot got on base earning a walk. Jaden Babiuk doubled advancing Justin Rogers to third, pinch running for Chabot. Kaden Rozdeba singled driving in Rogers and Babiuk making the score 2-1.
In the top of the third Grand View reclaimed the lead and didn’t look back tallying two in the third, seven in the sixth, and two in the seventh to take a 14-2 win.
Valley City State Hunter Magnuson pitched five innings with seven runs, six hits, four walks, with seven strikeouts. He was credited with the loss moving to 2-2 on the season.
Grand View’s Kaleb Krier was credited with the win after pitching four innings, giving up two run’s on three hits along with two walks and five strikeouts.
