Jamestown ND – The University of Jamestown men’s basketball team hosted the Dakota State University Trojans in the NSAA Semifinals this afternoon. Coming out on top of the close game, the Jimmies will advance to the NSAA Championship. Silas Bennion led the Jimmies with 24 points, and Anthony Walters contributed with 16. Jimmy Llinas posted a 10-rebound, 10-point double-double. The Jimmies played eight men, and each scored at least two points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cole Glasgow started the game with a first-possession triple from a Bennion pass. Tied 9-9 four minutes into play, the Trojans went on a 5-0 run to lead by five. Walters and Carson Woodford answered with six combined points to pull the Jimmies ahead by one.
- The teams played a close game in the remaining 10 minutes of the first half, but the Jimmies controlled most of it, getting up by six with two minutes to go.
- The Trojans replied with a quick seven points to nearly catch the Jimmies, but Will Cordes hit one beyond the arc to keep the Jimmies in the lead, 36-34 to end the first.
- To start the second, the Trojans scored twice to break the Jimmies lead. The teams went back and forth, keeping a close game once again.
- It was not until seven minutes and change that the Jimmies began to pull away, kickstarted by another Cordes three. Walters added another, and Bennion tagged on five to give the Jimmies their largest lead so far, 68-59.
- The Trojans got as close as four points, but the Jimmies had already established their lead and took the home-court win, 76-69.
- The Jimmies recorded 17 assists and six steals, Glasgow leading in both with seven assists and three steals.

- The Jimmies head to Dickinson State University to play the Blue Hawks in the NSAA Championship game on March 4 at 8:00 PM.
