KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Ann Marie Meiman and Allyssa Johnson earned individual conference titles and the University of Jamestown women’s wrestling team placed third at the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference championships Saturday, hosted by Avila University at Mabee Fieldhouse.

Meiman, ranked No. 20 in the NAIA at 145 pounds, pinned Anisa Moreno of Friends University in 1:38 in the semifinals, then won a 9-9 decision over Hedi Schultz of Friends University in the first-place match to earn her first collegiate conference championship.

Johnson, ranked No. 6 at 160 pounds, pinned Talyn Naylor of University of Saint Mary in 69 seconds in the quarterfinals, then defeated 19th-ranked Abigail Sebesta of Ottawa by 12-2 tech fall in the semifinals. In the championship match, Johnson won an 11-10 decision over No. 8 Darby Weidl of Ottawa. Following the meet, Johnson was selected as the KCAC Wrestler of the Year.

Meiman and Johnson automatically qualified for the NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Championships March 14-15 in Park City, Kan.

With the KCAC receiving three automatic qualifiers at 207 pounds, Grace Todhunter also earned a trip to nationals. Todhunter was pinned by Angel Lee of Friends University in her first match but came back with a pin of No. 8 Lessly Sandoval (University of Saint Mary) in 2:11, then pinned teammate Rayanne Mutchler in 3:18 in the third-place match.  
Nora Houglum finished third at 131, Jenna Baarson (117) and Mutchler (207) took fourth, Leah Willard (160) and Celia Jaeger (180) placed fifth, and Abby Ewing (124) took sixth.

The Jimmies were named the KCAC’s Team of Character.
