ORLANDO, FLA. – Valley City State University baseball fell to Concordia University (Neb.) 12-1 via run rule in the eighth inning on Monday, March 10.
The Vikings have a 9-11 record and are 4-6 in the RussMatt Invitational. Concordia is 12-6 on the season.
CU 12, VCSU 1
Concordia defeated the Vikings 12-1 via run rule after the eighth inning. VCSU’s Judson Seliskar ran in the games only run after going 0-for-2 with two walks. Cam Pero was 1-for-3.
The Bulldogs score the games first runs off a two-run homer in the first. The Vikings later answered in the third scoring their only run of the game off a Cody Wielgosh sacrifice fly.
Concordia tallied six runs in the fourth, one in the sixth and seventh, and two in the eighth to make the score 12-1 ending the game via run rule. Concordia had four home runs in the contest.
Viking pitcher Grady Shipman was credited the loss and is now 1-2 on the season. Concordia’s Seth Claybourne was credited the win.
