JRMC – Patients in need of hyperbaric oxygen therapy at Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) now have greater access to care, thanks to the addition of a second hyperbaric chamber. The new chamber, installed in early March, allows JRMC to double its daily patient volume, reducing wait times and improving efficiency.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a noninvasive treatment that delivers 100% oxygen in a pressurized environment, helping the body heal from chronic wounds, infections and conditions such as diabetic foot ulcers, radiation injuries and bone infections.

“With the addition of a second chamber, we can now treat up to six patients per day instead of three,” said Mercede Fiebiger, JRMC specialty clinics manager. “This means faster access to treatment, shorter wait times, and ultimately, better healing outcomes for our patients.”

JRMC’s Advanced Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center is nationally recognized for excellence in patient care. The facility is the only one in the region using advanced wound-healing techniques and was the first in North Dakota to offer a specialized wound center with hyperbaric oxygen therapy. A member of the Healogics network, JRMC provides expert treatment for diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, radiation burns and other chronic wounds that have not healed with standard care.

“Our goal is always to provide advanced care close to home,” said JRMC President & CEO Mike Delfs. “Expanding hyperbaric therapy is another way we’re ensuring that patients get the specialized treatment they need—without unnecessary delays.”

JRMC has earned multiple honors for its high-quality care, including the Healogics Clinical Excellence Award and the Center of Distinction Award. Most recently, the center received the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award, given to the top 10% of eligible Healogics Wound Care Centers. More than 92% of JRMC patients report being satisfied with their care, and the center’s median healing time is just 21 days.
