UJ – The University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team shines by clinching an impressive 3- 2 win over the (RV) Arizona Christian University in the Firestorm Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jimmies and the Firestorm came out to battle in the first set matching point for point until a short 2-0 scoring run by the Firestorm gave them the advantage 9-6
- The Jimmies answered back and with a kill by Michal Niemiec were able to tie the set 13-13
- The match again was a battle until the Jimmies were able to capitalize on two Firestorm erros and a kill from Tomasz Swiderski to take a 19-16 lead eventually leading to the Jimmies taking the set 25-21
- In the second set was much like the third with the each team trading points but this time a 3-0 scoring run by the Firestorm gave them a 6-8 lead
- The Jimmies battled back got within three points with a kill by Markam Cook 13-10 but the Firestorm finished strong to win the second set 25-20
- In the third set the Jimmies came out hot and were able to take a 4-1 lead
- The Firestorm however answered back with a 7-1 scoring run to take an 8-6 lead over the Jimmies
- The Jimmies responded and with 2-0 scoring run and a block by Benjamin Allred tied the set 10-10
- The Firestorm again went on a 3-0 scoring run to make the set 14-11 but the Jimmies were quick to respond with a 5-0 scoring run with a high career setting night from Michal Niemiec to again tie the set 18-18
- The set was again a back and forth battle but an ending 3-0 scoring run by the Firestorm gave them the set 25-23
- In the fourth set the Jimmies were able to jump ahead quickly to a 4-1 lead but the Firestorm quickly responded tieing the set 4-4
- The Jimmies responded and went on a 4-0 scoring run to take a 12-9 lead but as before the Firestorm fought back and tied the set again with an attack error by the Jimmies 14-14
- The set again as a battle between both teams but a 3-0 scoring run by the Jimmies gave them a 18-15 lead but again the Firestorm respond on a 3-0 scoring run to take the lead 19-18
- One last push by the Jimmies for a 3-0 scoring run and kill by Michal Niemiec was able to give the Jimmies the set win 25-23
- In the fifth set it was again a close set but the Firestorm were able to take a 6-4 lead on a 2-0 scoring run
- The Jimmies dug deep and with a 4-0 scoring run was able to take a 9-7 lead
- The Firestorm fought back but the Jimmies were able to fend them off and take a 16-14 set and match win
