Patrick Heinze, age 68, of Dazey, ND, died March 26th at his residence under hospice care. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 2nd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, rural Dazey, ND. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1st from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Sodbusters in Sibley, ND. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the Sodbusters. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery. A livestream of Patrick’s service and an online guestbook will be available at www.lerudmathias.com.
Pat was born on March 29, 1956 to Edwin and Dorothy Heinze in Valley City, North Dakota. He graduated in 1974 from Luverne, North Dakota. He married Dinah Bryn on June 6, 1975 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, Dazey, ND. The couple always lived in the Dazey area where they raised their four children. He spent his life deeply connected to the land. Farming, raising cattle, and driving truck. He was a man of strength and of genuine character. He cherished the simple joys of watching his crops grow as well as his children and grandchildren. His sense of humor is what he will be best remembered for as well as the twinkle in his eyes. He was a pillar of strength to his family and a cherished friend to all who knew him.
Pat is survived by his wife, Dinah; his children, Scott, Chad, Mindy and Casey (Kelsey) Heinze ; his grandchildren, Abby Pfau, Emily Curtis, Henry Olauson, Scarlet Olauson, Noah Heinze and Leo Pirnie; his siblings, Kathy Russell of Longmont, CO, John (Dorene) of Cooperstown, ND, Jim (Barb) of Dazey, ND and Bill (Tracy) of Wimbledon, ND; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Julius Heinze, Marie (Kunze) Bulens, Alfred and Teckla Beckstrom; a brother, Bobby; a sister, Suzi; and brother-in-law, John Russell.
