ELKHORN Neb. – The University of North Dakota women’s golf team wrapped up its regular season at the Stampede at the Creek, hosted by Omaha, on Tuesday from Indian Creek Golf Course in Elkhorn, Neb. 

Playing in their second tournament over the last week, the Fighting Hawks finished fifth as a team with a score of 938 (+74) out of the seven competing schools. After a tough opening round that featured heavy winds and cold temps, UND bounced back with a 305 in the middle round before closing out the event with a 310. 

Emersyn Walker carded a top-10 finish and led the way for NoDak, surging two spots up the leaderboard over the final 18 holes to finish eighth with a 232 (+16). The junior had the best individual round by a Fighting Hawk during the event, posting a 73 (+1) over the middle 18 holes and finished with a 77 (+5) to post back-to-back rounds in the 70’s. 

Fresh off a medalist performance over the weekend, Gigi Lund had another solid outing and just missed a top-10 placement by tying for 14th with a 236 (+20) while Kylie Warner saved her best for the final 18 holes to climb up to a tie for 24th in the standings with a 239 (+23) following a 76 (+4) in the final round. 

Erin Johnson shaved 12 strokes off her score from the opening 18 to the final round, closing with a 75 (+3) to finish 29th with a 240 (+24). Lily Bredemier and Riley Crothers rounded out the scoring for UND with a 249 (+33) and 250 (+34) to place tied for 34th and 38th, respectively. 

Four other Hawks competed as individuals, headlined by Lindsey Astrup pacing the group at 251 (+35). 

North Dakota will now prepare for the Summit League Women’s Golf Championships from Mesa, Ariz. beginning on Sunday, Apr. 20.
