On April 12, 2025, at approximately 7:31 p.m., a two-vehicle serious injury crash occurred at the intersection of 52nd Avenue South and 31st Street South in Fargo. A 2018 Triumph Street Triple motorcycle driven by a 20 year old male was traveling eastbound on 52nd Avenue approaching the intersection. A 2011 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 79 year old female was westbound on 52nd Avenue in the left turn lane to go south on 31st Street. The Chevrolet entered the intersection and began turning. The motorcycle entered the intersection and attempted to steer right before contact occurred. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The Chevrolet driver and passengers reported minor or no injuries. Both vehicles were disabled and towed from the scene. Earlier in the evening law enforcement recorded this motorcycle driving at speeds up to 140mph but declined to pursue due to safety reasons. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
