BISMARCK – A large scale domestic operations training exercise will be conducted across North Dakota from June 9-13, 2025, centered in Bismarck. The exercise, led by the North Dakota National Guard and North Dakota Department of Emergency Services will involve personnel from numerous local, state, and federal agencies.

This training event is designed to enhance interagency coordination and preparation for responding to a large-scale flooding event and cascading impacts. Exercise officers have designed the exercise to test participants, plans, and current systems. Participants will work through realistic scenarios to improve communication, resource allocation, and overall effectiveness in a collaborative environment.

Participating organizations include: NDDES, NDNG, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, National Weather Service, U.S. Northern Command, National Guard Bureau, Civil Air Patrol, Burleigh County, McLean County, Morton County, Oliver County, Mercer County, City of Bismarck, ND Highway Patrol, ND Department of Water Resources, ND Department of Transportation, ND Department of Environmental Quality, ND Department of Agriculture, ND Health and Human Services, ND Department of Corrections, ND Department of Information Technology, South Dakota National Guard, Colorado National Guard, Montana National Guard, and more.
