NDHP – On July 17th, 2025, at approximately 11:26 a.m., a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 31 year old female of Devils Lake was northbound on Steele County Road 8. A 2009 Peterbilt pulling a gravel trailer driven by a 53 year old male of Hillsboro was northbound on Steele County Road 8. The Peterbilt was on the north side of a hill, slowing to stop for the stop sign at the intersection of Steele County Road 8 and ND Highway 200. The Jeep struck the rear of the gravel trailer after cresting the hill. Both occupants of the Jeep were transported from the scene by ambulance. This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
